More About Me </>
Thanks for visiting my online portfolio. My name is Emmanuel C. Flint and I’m a Front-end Software Engineer. I started playing around with websites years ago inside Dreamweaver, like most people were doing, with WYSIWYG applications - back in 1999. However, within the past seven years I’ve focused more on web programming and decided to make a career out of it.

Education
It started with me earning an Associate of Applied Sciences degree in Web Development at Baker College (Flint Michigan). This was a major step because it solidified my interest in coding and helped me acclimate to coding regularly - cultivating a coding habit, so to speak. Soon after I graduated from Baker, I became certified with Microsoft for HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, and CSS. Then I started to dive deeper into PHP5 at the time.
Currently, I hold a Master’s in Information Technology from Southern New Hampshire University, for web coding. I’ve also become an AWS Certified Practitioner, as I gain more knowledge and expertise for working within cloud infrastructure.
Angular Services Code

FrontEnd Coding
I’m well-versed in front end languages and continually seek to explore new frameworks that assist with producing great user interfaces and user experiences. Here are some highlights from my more recent coding efforts:
The Stack
- React - I’m able to utilize React for many kinds of frontend implementations that require the state approach to developing frontend information architecture.
- Angular - This is perhaps the framework I’ve used the most in the past two to four years. I’ve been able to accomplish many goals with Angular using reactive coding approaches. I’m also avidly pursuing NgRx, which is Angular’s state management implementation that’s based on Redux.
- HTML
- Laravel Blade
- JavaScript
- SCSS

BackEnd Coding
I also employ backend technologies for getting data to the front-end.
The Stack
- Laravel (PHP) - This is my primary back-end coding playground. It's flexible and durable.
- Python - I'm becoming fairly competent in this language while training and developing e-commerce REST APIs.

The Heavy Lifters
I’ve also learned to utilize various engines, servers, and cloud tools to get data to applications, or orchestrate SaaS, IaaS, or PaaS resources.
Web Servers
- Apache - My initial stack when I started coding professionally was LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP). So, naturally, I’m still using Apache when deploying to EC2. This webserver is tried-and-true and works quite well for virtual host setups, SSL, and more.
- Nginx - On occasion I’ve had to use this engine to configure local development proxying between the frontend and backend when developing with Angular.
Cloud Infrastructure and CI/CD
- Jenkins - I’ve pushed the deploy button many times when using this tool at MindEdge.
- Ansible - This dynamo of a tool helped me put together infrastructure in ways I didn’t think was possible.
- Docker - Still venturing into Container Land using Docker Compose.
- Amazon Web Services - I’ve used this cloud giant many times for work and play => AWS CLI, Cognito, EC2, S3, Route 53, VPC, and more.

Kind regards
